Formative Task - Quick Sketching

One of the most important skills for a designer is the ability to communicate through drawings. (Sketching etc)

To develop this skill you need to practice.

The activity below is provided to give you drawing practice.

In this activity you should concentrate on communicating your ideas.

Quick Draw... For this activity you will produce 6 design sketches in 24 minutes (4 minutes per sketch). Your teacher will use the PowerPoint below to show you what the focus is for each design sketch.

Divide a sheet of A3 paper into 6 boxes.

Clearly write your full name on the front of the sheet in the top left corner

When a word appears on screen, copy the word into the bottom of the first box and draw your sketch above the label. Include as much detail as possible.

After 4 minutes the next word will appear and you need to begin the next sketch in the next space on your sheet.

Repeat for all 6 words.

Pin all sheets up and discuss.

Give your named sketch sheet to your teacher
