Additional Task - Tree House Design

This is an additional task for you to try out if you finish your Clock ahead of Time. (see the joke there?)

It provides you with the opportunity to practice the design process using a different piece of design software.

In this task you will use a new piece of software called SketchUp for Schools. You can install this for FREE from the Microsoft Store.

This type of design is called Built Environment Design (BED) and includes Architecture, Landscape Architecture and Interior Design.

To create a Tree House design.

Follow the steps below.

Install SketchUp for Schools on your Laptop. (your teacher will help you)

Watch the tutorials below to become familiar with using SketchUp. (They are from a slightly different version but are very similar)

View the attached PowerPoint for ideas on how to design and furnish your Tree House.

Copy the sketchup template from Year 8 Common and save it to your One Drive.

Create and install walls, doors, windows and furniture to complete your design.

Note: You may add extra floor space and platforms if desired.

When complete, capture images of the interior and exterior of your Tree House and add them to your design portfolio.
