Synthesising your Design

Synthesis is about developing your design by using the best parts of your design ideas. We do this using Convergent Thinking skills.

Convergent Thinking is the process of combining your best ideas to come up with one "SUPER IDEA"

On a sheet of A3 paper draw a "good copy" of your final design idea.

This design could be a combination of your design ideas, a refined version of one idea or even a completely new idea.

Take the time to get it just right as you will be tracing this drawing to make your Clock.

It should be larger, neater and more detailed than your original design ideas.

Outline your drawing using a black fineliner and add colour to it.

Scan it and insert the image into the Synthesis page of your portfolio.

Make sure you keep a digital copy of your drawing as you will need it for the next stage
